FAQs

What is a Psy.D.?

Psy.D. stands for "Doctor of Psychology," a degree that focuses on clinical skill development. My Psy.D. was completed with honors in 1998, with a focus in Marriage and Family Therapy.

What is a Marriage and Family Therapist?

The State of California has established three different types of clinical licenses. Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (MFTs -- formerly known as the Marriage, Family and Child Counselor, or MFCC license) focus on assisting people in improving the quality of their interpersonal relationships through addressing the issues which may interfere with connecting to others in meaningful and intimate ways. I am licensed in the State of California as a MFT.
